Please don't shoot the messenger! I am a fellow user trying to help you use the Office that is rather than the one that should be. While I'm confident that this was in the fine print when you made your purchase, it comes to a surprise to a number of people. When you purchased those licenses, though, the HUP license is limited to the time of your employment. Surely there has to be a way to activate my wife's Office 2016. Purchased through HUP function just fine. My other two computers which have Office 2016 I purchased three licenses and have all the receipts of purchase (which do not contain the product key). I was then told that I would have to purchase Office 365 or another product which is unacceptable to me. Work there so it's impossible for me to receive that email. However, in order for me to get the product key, I would have to receive it in an email from MS to my previous employer's email address.
I contacted tech support and a tech said that I need the product key in order to activate the product. Even my Order History doesn't show any of the three HUP purchases that I made. I then logged in with my accountĪnd again, MS states that Office is not associated with my account either. I tried to activate the product using her MS login and MS states that Office is not associated with her account. I researched the errorĬode on the MS Community and an answer suggested that I complete an online repair which I did.Īfter the repair completed, all her MS Office 2016 apps now state that she needs to activate her product.
